Trigger Point Dry Needling

Premier Physical Therapy offers a specialized service called Trigger Point Dry Needling. This service, performed by a physical therapist with specialized training, uses a monofilament needle for the assessment and treatment of myofascial pain syndromes and dysfunction in order to relieve pain or improve range of motion.

Most patients do report being sore after receiving dry needling treatment. It is often described as muscle soreness over the treatment area and those near the site. Typically, the soreness lasts between a few hours and a few days. Recommendations vary, but they may include applying heat or ice over the area, gentle stretches, and modifications to activities. We also recommend drinking lots of fluids/water to prevent any excessive amounts of soreness.
