Find Your Why
Everyone always understands what is hurting them or where their pain is located. That part is easy. The patients that come in to Premier Physical Therapy Services all know exactly what they are there to get treated for. However, not everyone goes through life knowing exactly what to do and where to go. Yet many people are still driven toward some end goal by an internal force pushing them further.
Whether it is the goal of physical fitness, training to complete a marathon, or even something as simple as being physically able to play with their kids or grandkids. Those are all the reasons that keep people striving to get better. These are the things that answer the question why they choose to seek treatment to get rid of pain and become physically stronger.
Your why becomes the very thing that pushes you to solve whatever problems come your way. Take, for example, someone who has suffered an injury while running. They know the pain is coming from their knee, but it only really hurts when they choose to push their pace. They could very easily go the rest of their lives without running fast if it weren’t for one thing: their love of running competitively. Participating in races and marathons throughout the year is a major part of their life, so they see absolutely no choice but to quickly seek out treatment. That is their why. That is what pushes them through physical therapy to strengthen and heal their knee so that they can get back to doing what they love to do.
Without a clear vision of the why, it becomes so much more difficult to feel motivated enough to take action when it comes to your physical health. If you’re unsure what exactly your why is, just consider these questions: What gets you out of bed in the morning? What excites you? What is the one thing in your life that you couldn’t do without? Answering these questions can help you to find your why.
Here at Premier Physical Therapy Services, we see many different people with motivations stemming from something as big as wanting to complete a marathon to something that is taken for granted, walking without assistance. The real progress comes from people who understand why they want to be better and then we can help by taking care of how you get better.
Pursue your why at Premier.
